The Right Mix – Alcohol Management Strategy

This strategy focuses on the role the Council can play in creating the kind of city that encourages safe alcohol consumption.

The Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012 allows councils to develop a local alcohol policy that looks at the sale and availability of alcohol – including the number of outlets, their location and conditions under which they can operate.

This Alcohol Management Strategy provides a broader context for the Council’s Local Alcohol Policy. It takes a wider view of alcohol and alcohol-related behaviour, how alcohol can positively contribute to our aspirations for a dynamic central city with vibrant suburban centres, and how we can all play a part in reducing alcohol-related harm.
