Wellington City Council Ground Status Information for THE WEEKEND (Saturday 20 April & Sunday 21 April):
We may have some ground closures and restrictions. Please contact your club or sporting code for an update on your training or competition fixtures.
Our artificial turfs remain open.
Newtown Park Track (please remain off the field):
Newtown Park is not a public ground; access is only permitted to key holders and those with bookings. For casual use, a key fob can be purchased from Newtown Depot (113 Russell Terrace, Berhampore), Newtown Library (13 Constable Street, Newtown) or WCC Service Centre (12 Manners Street, Te Aro) for $25. Key fobs will give you right of entry to the Newtown Park All Weather Track from 1 November 2023 to 31 October 2024.
Access to the grounds is for casual sport and fitness training on the all-weather running surface. No training may take place on the grass in the middle of the park.
