The Wellington Tramways Union representing bus drivers since 1908 have been excluded by the Council from sitting on the Manners Street Taskforce. The bus company privatly owned since 1991 while sitting on the Taskforce has a conflict because of a commercial interest. This goes against the public interest including the health and safety of bus drivers and fellow Wellingtonians.

On the 20th of October during the Council for Trade Unions Fair Day at Work Rally at parliament Celia Wade-Brown Mayor elect spoke about inclusiveness and working with the trade unions.
