International Peace Symbol In the New Wellington City Council Logo

Petition details

The petition asks that the International Peace Symbol is placed in the new Wellington City Council Logo, diagonally opposite the words. It would be the size and thickness of the W of Wellington in the logo. It is the free to use logo of the UK based Campaign For Nuclear Disarmament.

Background information

New Zealand leads the world in action against nuclear weapons. We're a key member of the New Agenda Coalition against nuclear weapons. Our nation's capital city logo can rightfully show this. Nuclear weapons abolition is the most urgent issue facing humanity. It's about the survival of the human race.The International Committee of the Red Cross says ban them now.

At this stage, the City and Council logo will not be changing. This means the the 'plus' symbol or any alternatives will not be applied to the city's branding.  Therefore, this ePetition is no longer needs to be advanced.
