Rangiora Avenue footpath works

We have carried out footpath upgrades on Rangiora Avenue in Kaiwharawhara.

About the project

The upgrades included:

  • installing the new footpath
  • constructing new 40m long retaining wall
  • installing handrails
  • improved delineation by way of road marking and priority control at the narrow section of Rangiora Avenue
  • improving traffic flow by installing ‘No Stopping At All Times’ (NSAAT) restrictions.

Our next steps are to build the timber staircase from Rangiora Avenue to Hutt Road while retaining and protecting three pohutukawa trees in this area.

Updates

August 2020

There will be a delay of six weeks from 20 August to mid October to this part of the works due to the new staircase redesign and consent amendments needed.

Construction of the remainder of the works will recommence from mid-October and continue for four weeks with the works estimated to be completed by late November.
