New Year's Eve 2023
Another year has passed, and once again Wellingtonians were treated to a wonderful evening of live music, fireworks, and kai, set against the iconic backdrop of Whairepo Lagoon.
Covers band Zephyr brought the tunes to kick off the celebrations. Meanwhile, the food truck court in Odlin’s Plaza provided crowds with some delicious warm kai.
So that the little ones didn’t miss out, there was a Kids countdown at 10pm, complete with a fun-sized burst of fireworks. Orchestra Wellington then took to the stage to enchant the crowd with some Movie Magic-themed music.
Finally, the New Year couldn’t have been welcomed in without the countdown just before midnight, plus a short fireworks display to bring it home.
