'Youthspective' on Wellington

We created a competition for 10 to 18 year-olds to send us their photos showing their view of Wellington. The competition is now closed. All entries are displayed on the photo gallery.

Prizes & Exhibition

Mayor with competition winner Pearl

Mark Round (The Dominion Post), Justine Hall (Wellington City Council photographer) and Trina Saffioti (Wellington City Council Communications and Marketing Manager) were competition judges for two of the three categories (10 - 14 years and 15 - 18 years).

Competition prizes were presented by the Mayor to the winners on 13 April 2010.

The winners of each age category received:

• a Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZR1 Digital Camera, 8Gb memory card and camera case - courtesy of Panasonic and Wellington Photographic Supplies
• a $50 voucher from Wellington Photographic Supplies.

The winner of People's Choice Award as voted by the public received:

• a Lomography SuperSampler Camera - courtesy of Wellington Photographic Supplies
• a $50 voucher from Wellington Photographic Supplies.

The winning photos will be displayed at Council venues, Wellington City Libraries and on the Council website.

Some competition photos will also become part of Wellington City Council's stock photo library and photographers will receive a $50 voucher for Wellington Photographic Supplies for each photo selected.
