To apply for a new water connection, alteration, relocation, or disconnection, complete the form below:

Application Fees

The following application fees are payable to Council at the time of application:

Service Charge $
Residential connection $61.50 per connection
Other (eg commercial, fire service) $205.00 per connection
Greenfield subdivision no fees
Disconnection/Meter/Backflow preventer $61.50 per disconnection/item
Inspection/re-inspection $65.00 per inspection

Lodging the Application

Once you complete the application, send it by post with your application fee to:

Or drop it into the City Service Centre at Wellington City Council, 101 Wakefield Street.

Approval of the Application

Your application will be processed by Capacity Infrastructure Services (Capacity), who manages water, stormwater and wastewater services on behalf of Wellington City Council. Capacity will advise you of the applications’ approval or non-approval, and will send a list of approved water supply contractors with the approval letter.

You can then obtain installation quotations from the approved contractors and choose one to do the work. The installation costs will be charged directly to you by the installation contractor.
