Wellington Regional Aquatic Centre
Wellington Regional Aquatic Centre is at 63 Kilbirnie Crescent, Kilbirnie.

It features a 50-metre heated indoor pool, learners pool, toddlers pool and private spa pools, a water-play area, saunas, a fitness centre, swim shop, café, creche and meeting rooms for hire. All pool water is treated with ozone.
Spray - the new indoor water-play area with family fun activities – opened in February 2008. Facilities include spray jets, baby bungy, see-saw, water shooters, and an animated aquarium. It is available for children’s parties, community and corporate groups.

Sports Venue
The Aquatic Centre is Wellington's premier water sports venue. It is popular with local swimmers and water-sports enthusiasts, and a second home to diving, water-polo and underwater-hockey players.
Maintenance Closure
As part of the scheduled five-yearly maintenance plan, the Aquatic Centre will be closed 15 June - 30 August 2009. This will allow essential repairs and upgrading of some areas to be carried out.
The 50-metre pool and creche will be closed. Other services offered within the Aquatic Centre will remain open. Spray, swim programmes, hydrotherapy pool, café, swim shop, reception, spa, sauna, massage therapy and fitness centre will all run as normal.
During this maintenance closure period, Thorndon Pool will be open weekdays 12 noon - 2.00pm for a refreshing lunchtime dip.

Open seven days a week from 6.00am - 9.00pm, apart from Christmas Day.
As the pool hosts a number of regional, national and international events, it may close to the public from time to time.
