Overview
Wellington city has 44 parks with field markings for winter and summer sports. They are maintained by the Council and used by sports clubs and recreational users.
Golf practice and dogs are not allowed at Council sportsfields.
Cancellations & Closures
Sportsgrounds are occasionally closed for reasons including bad weather, maintenance and sports club bookings.
All Wellington City Council sportsgrounds are currently open.

Bookings
Sportsgrounds can be booked. Schools and sports clubs often book them for games and practices. Businesses and community groups can also book grounds for activities and team-building days. Discounts for schools can be negotiated.
Bookings require notice of at least three working days.
