One of the Council's five service centres

You can do most of your Council business at any of the five service centres around Wellington.

As well as finding Council information at service centres, you can:

• pay rates, Council housing rents, water meter bills, any other Council payments or loan repayments.
• apply for hygiene and liquor licenses.
• apply for land and development approvals including resource and building consents and property reports (not at Newtown).
• register dogs.
• buy rubbish bags, recycling bins, and parking coupons.
• get information about City Council facilities including pools, landfills, rubbish collections.
• report problems or faults with Council services.

Credit Card Payments

The Service Centres accept Visa and MasterCard for some transactions but not all.

You can pay for the following with your Visa or MasterCard:

• monthly and daily coupon parking
• refuse bags
• recycling bins
• Newtown Park keys
• GIS plans
• drainage plans
• sandwich boards
• fire permits
• encroachment permits
• SmartPark

You cannot pay for the following with your credit card:

• water rates
• dog registration
• rents for Council housing

Rates Credit Card Payments

You can pay your rates online with your credit card. If you would like to pay your rates with your credit card at a Service Centre, the Service Centre staff will access the Council's website and help you with making an online payment.
