OOS is a condition that affects people in different ways, and differently on different days. Some days are better than others. There are no magic answers for OOS - what works for one person might not work for you.
When trying something new:
- don't continue beyond your own limitations
- consider your levels of stress - this can change what you are able to do on any given day
- let your tutor or instructor know if you are experiencing adverse reactions
- check that your tutor or instructor understands and has worked with people with OOS before.
Try incorporating the exercises and new ways of moving that you pick up in classes into your daily routines.
Note: this information is not a substitute for medical advice.
Tutors & Instructors
The Council cannot endorse any one tutor or instructor over another. So each recreation page gives you clues on how to go about finding the right tutor or instructor for you. Also try:
- looking in the telephone book
- asking friends, colleagues or health professionals for a recommendation
- searching the internet
- keeping an eye on notice boards and shop windows
