Recreation Options - Gym Work

Return to List Print Page

Gym work is an umbrella term for a range of activities you can do using gym equipment such as weights, cross trainers, and recumbent bikes. These activities centre on increasing your strength and fitness.

Some people find going to a gym really helpful for their OOS, while others have re-injured themselves. It is important to choose an instructor who understands OOS and who can advise how to do the exercises correctly.

Gym Work is best done as an individual activity with a programme designed specifically for you.

Benefits

Comments

"I know if I don't go to the gym I start feeling sore and achy." Heather.

"Recumbent bike is easier than an upright bike." Katrina.

"The pump classes are probably the best thing for me because it's my shoulder and neck. So doing pump really helps strengthen my neck and you only do it to the weight you can do." Heather.
