The Council seeks to help community groups deliver recreation activities.

Throughout the year the Council provides workshops and forums designed to assist people involved in the sports and recreation sector.

Sports & Recreation Forum

Each year the Wellington City Council holds a Sports and Recreation Forum. The forum aims to strengthen relationships and improve communication with sport and recreation organisations in Wellington.

Sports and Recreation forums are open to members of any Wellington-based sport or recreation organisation.

Upcoming Sports & Recreation Forum

Date: Wednesday, 7 April 2010
Time: 6.00pm - 8.00pm
Location: Renouf Foyer, Michael Fowler Centre, Wakefield Street
Details:

Guest speaker will be Martin Snedden, Chief Executive Officer, Rugby New Zealand 2011 Limited.

The forum aims:

  • To strengthen relationships and improve communication between the Council and sport and recreation organisations in the city.
  • Share ideas, experiences and information. It is also a chance for the Council to communicate its plans and vision for the city.
  • Learn about the draft Annual Plan 2010/11.
  • Discuss ideas, trends, challenges and opportunities through the break out sessions.
Win: Attend the forum and go in the draw to win a double pass to attend the All Blacks vs South Africa match at Westpac Stadium in July 2010.
