The Council seeks to help community groups deliver recreation activities. Throughout the year the Council provides workshops and forums designed to assist people involved in the sports and recreation sector.

Sports & Recreation Forum

Each year the Wellington City Council holds a Sports and Recreation Forum. The forum aims to strengthen relationships and improve communication with sport and recreation organisations in Wellington.

Sports and Recreation forums are open to members of any Wellington-based sport or recreation organisation.

The third Sports and Recreation Forum was held on 23 April 2008.
