Wellington city's last remaining quarry, Kiwi Point, is located in Ngauranga Gorge.
The quarry crushes and processes rock the city needs to maintain existing roads and structures, and build new ones. It also produces fine chip used for sealing roads and highways, and construction and landscaping products.
Kiwi Point Quarry is owned by the Council and managed by Holcim (NZ) Limited.
The quarry is minutes by car from the Wellington central business district. Take the left-hand lane heading up the Ngauranga Gorge and the Kiwi Point exit.
