Council arborists plant and prune trees on road reserve and footpaths. Other trees on road reserve are pruned at resident's requests, and as part of the Council's on-going maintenance programme.

Trees growing on private property are the resident's responsibility. Trees growing on road reserve are only pruned when there is a legitimate need, like avoiding power cables. Blocking views and casting shade are not adequate grounds for pruning.

If you request pruning or tree removal, you may have to pay some or all of the cost of the work. This depends on:
