On-street Parking - Coupon Parking

This scheme aims to make parking available for shoppers and visitors to the city.

Coupon parking zones are in the areas on the fringe of the central business district and are clearly marked with blue signs.

Cost

The first two hours in coupon parking zones are free.

After that you will need to display a validated coupon on your windscreen or side window.

Public Holidays

On public holidays, parking time restrictions and fees do not apply. This applies to all parking, including coupon zones. On public holidays, you can park in a coupon zone for as long as you like without displaying a coupon.

Coupon Exemption Permit

A Coupon Exemption Permit allows residents living within coupon parking zones to park in their zone without displaying a coupon.

For an exemption, you must check the above list of streets and map of coupon parking. If you are still not sure if your zone allows you to park without displaying a coupon, call (04) 910 3444 to check with Wellington Parking and Infringement Services.
