Council-owned Car Parks

The Council runs two parking buildings and one car park in the central city - under Civic Square, on Clifton Terrace and next to the Michael Fowler Centre.

Note:  Prices and payment methods vary, so check the signs when you park.

Civic Square (entrance off Harris Street)

• Open 6.00am - midnight.
• Daytime (6.00am - 6.00pm): $4 per hour, maximum stay of two hours.
• Evening (6.00pm - midnight): $2 per hour, maximum stay of six hours.
• Weekend: free, but a maximum stay of two hours applies on Saturdays between 6.00am and 6.00pm.

Clifton Carpark (entrance off The Terrace)

Monday - Friday

• 6.00am - midnight: $4 per hour
• Midnight - 6.00am: $2 per hour
• In before 9.30am: $15 (Earlybird concession)

Saturday - Sunday, Public Holidays

• $2 per hour (maximum daily charge: $6)

Overnight Parking

If you leave your car parked overnight, the 'Earlybird' concession rate does not apply the next day. Instead, the total charge is made up of each of the charges that applies during the time the car was parked.

Michael Fowler Centre Car Park (entrance off Wakefield Street)

• Daytime (6.00am - 6.00pm): $4 per hour, maximum stay of two hours.
• Evening (6.00pm - midnight): $2 per hour, maximum stay of six hours.
• Weekends: free, but a maximum stay of two hours applies on Saturdays between 6.00am and 6.00pm.
