On-street parking in Kilbirnie

The Council provides a range of parking services and facilities to make accessing the city and suburbs easy and safe.

Weekend parking in the inner city is free in on-street parking spaces, and at Civic Square and the Michael Fowler Centre carparks, but time restrictions apply. There is a lower weekend charge and longer term parking available at the Clifton Terrace car park.

In addition to the Council parking buildings, low-cost weekend parking fees are available at some commercial carparks located in the city centre.

Parking buildings are clearly marked with blue signage, and located throughout the central business district.

Parkwise

The Council contracts Parkwise, a subsidiary of Armourguard, to monitor parking in the city. The contract represents an extension of the traditional warden's job.

Parkwise staff also act as ambassadors within the city. Aside from issuing tickets, they are available to give directions, deal with on-going parking issues and are even trained in first aid.
