WHAT represents all City Housing tenants on a number of levels including:

  • advising tenants on rent disputes, eviction notices, tribunal cases, and general dealings with the Council's City Housing business unit
  • negotiating with the Council on behalf of tenants
  • bridging communications and activities between tenant committees and complexes
  • supporting and promoting processes that give tenants a say in decision-making.

The association holds fortnightly meetings with the Council to discuss and resolve a range of tenant issues.

Although they don't have the power to settle disputes, they can help tenants be more effective in their dealings with City Housing.

It can also help you set up a committee in any complex if you have enough interested people.
