The Council aims to respond to urgent maintenance requests within two hours. Council staff address standard maintenance – anything other than urgent repairs – within six days.

Urgent Maintenance

Maintenance is considered urgent if it involves any damage or malfunction that puts property, life or health at risk.

Types of Urgent Maintenance

• Damage from fire, flood or storm
• Failure of essential services - power supply, water supply, cooking appliances
• Faults with sanitary services - blockages in toilets, sewer drains or waste pipes
• Leaks in pipes, building or dwelling
• Failure of building services - lifts, fire alarms, security, emergency exit routes
