The Creative Communities NZ Wellington Local Funding Scheme is a partnership between the Council and Creative New Zealand. Every year Creative New Zealand provides money to Councils to support local arts activities. Any individual, group or organisation can apply.
Value
$100,000 per annum. Grants are awarded twice a year.
Purpose
These grants are intended to increase participation in the arts. Various types of projects are considered for these grants, such as workshops, performances, short-term arts events, artist in residence schemes and arts related promotional activities.
Criteria
To be eligible, projects must:
- happen within the Wellington City rate paying area
- increase community participation in the arts through providing new opportunities
- enhance the local arts sector through diverse arts experiences
- meet all criteria on the Creative Communities Grants application form
Groups that receive funding from Creative New Zealand are not normally eligible for these grants. See the application guide for more details regarding eligibility.
