The Otari-Wilton's Bush Trust runs monthly walks for members and visitors.
Walks are free to Trust members, and cost $3 for visitors.
2.00pm, Sunday 26 February
This walk's about 2 hours long, starting on the Yellow Trail then going off-track to visit a grove of mature pukatea trees, passing an old kingfisher condominium and a gnarled mahoe tree on the way. If time allows, may also see a waterfall and the 800-year-old rimu tree. Meet at the Information Centre.
2.00 pm, Sunday 25 March
A walk to the area above the flax clearing and an examination of kauri planted between 1930 and 1954.
On the walk Dr Carol West will discuss the history and growth of this grove, which is the largest stand of kauri south of their natural habitat.
Meet at the Information Centre.
