Botanic Garden - Volunteers

Print Page

There is a lively group of volunteers who make an important contribution to the Garden. While some donate a few hours each month, other volunteers are in the Garden weekly.

Volunteers help in many different ways. Their time and effort ranges from planting and pruning to leading guided tours. People from all over the world come to volunteer for a day or several months.

Friends

The Friends of Wellington Botanic Garden Inc. is a voluntary organisation that supports the Garden by:

  • providing a guided tour service for visitors, with trained volunteer guides
  • raising funds for Garden projects through plant sales and other activities
  • organising a themed seminar series each winter
  • arranging social functions and photographic displays.

Membership

Members receive quarterly newsletters, invitations to Garden events and the option of training to become guides. Annual membership fees are:

  • $15 for individuals and businesses
  • $20 for families
  • $6 for students
  • $500 for life membership
