Spring Festival 2010

Tulips in the Botanic Garden

18 September - 3 October

The festival begins with the Otari-Wilton's Bush Open Day on Saturday 18 September and will include all kinds of guided walks:

• glow-worm tours
• tombstone walks
• plant hunting
• a tour for people with limited mobility or impaired sight

There will also be special guided walks and activities for kids in the Botanic Garden and at the Colonial Cottage Museum, as well as visits from the Zoo.

The festival also features:

• workshops on growing your own vegetables and on ikebana
• concerts
• a painters' day
• lunchtime entertainment in Lambton Quay
• a regional tree-climbing competition.

Tulip Sunday (26 September) is the main event of the festival with music and food available among the thousands of tulips and other spring flowers.

The festival ends with an orchid show and ukulele workshop and concert.
