Rugby World Cup 2011 - Fan Zone

Following the success of the Lions tour in Wellington in 2005 and annual NZI Rugby Sevens tournaments, the heart of Wellington city will be transformed into a fan-friendly area during Rugby World Cup 2011.
Events and activities taking place throughout Wellington's match period will include:
- a world rugby village
- giant outdoor screens with live match broadcasts
- street parades
- circus and street performers, dancers and cultural groups
- multiple stages with live bands and DJs
- harbour fireworks
- public training sessions
- an exhibition at Te Papa.
As with the NZI Sevens tournament, crowds are encouraged to wear costumes, street banners will be displayed, and Wellington businesses will have window-dressing competitions.
