Energising Business

Wellington businesses can get funding for a third of the cost of an energy assessment, and towards investing in the recommended improvements (up to $30,000) through the Government's Energising Business programme. The Council is providing a further top-up grant of 17% of the project cost, up to $1,000.

Any business that spends less than $300,000 a year on energy per site may qualify.

Access to the programme will be managed by a contracted service provider as part of your Energising Business application. The following service providers are operating in Wellington:

Demand Response

Demand Response offers a two-stage approach, focusing on firms with an energy spend of up to $300,000 per year:

  • Opportunity Identification - energy audits to identify key energy saving projects
  • Opportunity Implementation - design and project management

They also offer an Energy Conservation Performance contract, where energy savings may be used to cover the project's capital cost.
