Community Halls - Overview

The Council manages three halls and various other community facilities. Community groups and individuals can hire these facilities for meetings and events.

The venues are inexpensive to hire and are ideal for social functions, after-school activities and all kinds of community recreation and leisure activities.

Cost

Prices - GST inclusive
Community (open to the public for free / run by a community group) $16 per hour
Non-community (open to the public, but privately run) $21 per hour
Social / Private (not open to the public, eg birthday parties, cultural events and social functions) $26 per hour
Commercial (use by a group / business that is profit-making) $36 per hour
Bond $300
(Required for social functions, BYO and liquor licence bookings and large events.)
Venue security check fee $25
(Non-refundable and required with all bond payments.)

Hall Hours

Closing time:  12 midnight

No noise or music is allowed after 12 midnight. Quiet clean-up until 12.30am.

Make a booking enquiry by using the enquiry form at least 3 weeks before your meeting or event.

Restrictions

Alcohol Sales & Supply

If you want to sell alcohol at one of the Council's halls or community facilities, you need to apply for and be granted a special liquor licence. Allow 25 working days for your application to be processed. Alcohol BYO events (bringing but not selling drinks) generally do not need a licence, but you may still need to pay a bond.
