The Wellington Sculpture Trust is requesting submissions for a gateway sculpture on the motorway next to Wellington Harbour. The sculpture would replace the previously chosen Hook of Maui which was abandoned for technical and cost reasons.
A $900,000 project budget has been set with half of the funds coming from Council funds for the original project and half from private donors. Concepts and preliminary drawings are required by mid-March 2010.
For a project brief and further details, view the Wellington Sculpture Trust website.

Over 400 artists, producers, educators and organisations outlined a vision for the arts in Wellington, current priorities and possible actions to achieve them. A summary of these sessions is available from the City Arts team.
You can access a forum about Mapping for the Future and ongoing activities through the Big Ideas forum.
