Toi Pōneke Arts Centre and gallery is a creative space for artists, and arts businesses and organisations to meet, work, rehearse and exhibit in the heart of the city.

Aim

Toi Pōneke aims to:

  • increase arts activity in Wellington by providing an environment that supports innovation and encourages artists to work together
  • connect people to the creative community.

Toi Pōneke Hub

The Toi Pōneke Hub is an open resource area for the Wellington arts community to network. The casual meeting space has reference material, computers and internet access.

Toi Pōneke Gallery exhibits work by solo artists, groups and curators. Admission to the gallery is free.

DEBLYN Artist-in-residence Programme

The DEBLYN artist-in-residence programme supports recent art graduates in their first year out of tertiary education. The residency includes use of a studio at Toi Pōneke, a three-week exhibition at Toi Pōneke Gallery and $1,000 towards exhibition costs.

The next programme starts in February 2012 and finishes in November 2012.

Applications for the 2012 programme need to be submitted by 5 December 2011.
