In Stage 4: Implementation

Summary

Construction is now almost complete, with the remaining jobs expected to be completed by August 2006.

Engineering changes include:

• construction of kerb extensions and median islands
• alterations to road markings
• coloured road surfaces on selected roads
• new traffic and pedestrian signals.

The consultation for the proposed 40km/h speed restrictions, planned for late 2007, has been deferred.
