Hydrotherapy class
The hydrotherapy services project at the Wellington Regional Aquatic Centre (WRAC) in Kilbirnie was completed in March 2008.
The project was a joint initiative between Wellington City Council and the Capital and Coast District Health Board. Patients are the main users of the service and use it to help their recuperation. The general public also uses it for structured programmes and as a dedicated facility for learn-to-swim classes.
The Capital and Coast District Health Board conducts hydrotherapy services in the learners pool for 20 hours a week, Monday to Friday mornings.
The project took 15 months to complete.
The services are a part of the Aquatic Centre's Shallow Water Play Project.
