The Cable Car Museum.
The Cable Car Museum

The Wellington Museums Trust has completed an extension to the Cable Car Museum.

The extension, completed in 2005, has provided a home for the historically important, fully-restored Grip Car No.3.

Tourist Attraction

Situated at the top of the Cable Car, the Museum is part of a cluster of tourist attractions in the area.

The Cable Car, the Botanic Garden and the Carter Observatory collectively form a unique must-see destination for local, domestic and international visitors. The Council supports the enhancement of this area.

Budget

The Council approved funding of $300,000 in 2004/05 and $350,000 for 2005/06.
