Notification of notice of requirement for an alteration to an existing district plan designation [SR 189274] under section 168A and in accordance with section 93(2) of the Resource Management Act 1991.

Jointly notified with an application for a resource consent to the Greater Wellington Regional Council.

Location:

Between Middleton Road, Glenside and Westchester Drive, Churton Park.

The proposed works lie mostly within an existing land designation under the Wellington City District Plan, designation no. 134. The land includes Pt Lot 24 DP 70931; Lot 3 DP 26649; Sec 1 SO 336646; Sec 3 SO 336646 and Pt Lot 2 DP 76439.

Part of the preferred road alignment lies outside the already designated area, and therefore a change to the designation (under Section 181 of the Resource Management Act 1991) is sought concurrently with the resource consent application made under Section 88 of the Resource Management Act 1991 to the Greater Wellington Regional Council.

The proposed road extension lies between approximate map reference NZMS 260:R27; 2662267.5998754 (Middleton Road end) and NZMS 260:R27; 2661663.5998967 (Westchester Drive end).

Description of Application:

Proposal:

To construct a new road that will extend Westchester Drive approximately 810 metres to Middleton Road. The works will involve earthworks on slopes above Stebbings Stream to build the road (including discharges to this stream from the earthworks area), the construction of three bridges (one temporary) over Stebbings Stream and the reclamation and diversion of a section of Stebbings Stream to a new channel.

Alteration to a designation from Wellington City Council:

The Wellington City Council is issuing a notice of requirement for an alteration to Wellington City District Plan Designation No. 134. The proposed alteration will mean that additional land at several points either side of the existing designation would be incorporated. The notice also includes details of the proposed physical works and alignment of the new 810 metre section of road.

This alteration to a designation is jointly notified with an application for a resource consent to the Greater Wellington Regional Council.
