Race Relations Week Starts Soon
08.03.10
Each year 21 March is observed around the globe as the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. Wellington City Libraries is a proud participant of the Diversity in Action Programme - we've been making clay Earth People every year for the last five years as part of Race Relations Week.
Craft fun creating Earth People figures from clay
To celebrate Race Relations Week 2010, our libraries are running several free cultural awareness events including Earth People and Festival of Cultures from 15 - 20 March. Visit us at Newtown, Johnsonville, Tawa, Kilbirnie and Miramar libraries and celebrate these events with your community!
You can dress in your national costume; tell stories, take part in crafts and other activities such as music and dance. There'll be displays and much more.
