Fans of popular local band OdESSA disappointed that last Wednesday’s concert was cancelled due to wet weather can dry their tears.

Wellington City Council Summer City organisers have rescheduled Odessa to play the final date of the ASB Gardens Magic season on Sunday 29 at 1.30pm in the Sound Shell at the Botanic Garden.

City Council Summer City Producer Jessica Garland says the decision to reschedule OdESSA wasn't a hard one.  "OdESSA is one of Wellington's favourite bands and they're making big headlines around the country," she says. "They are a very hot ticket at the moment and we wanted to give Wellingtonians another chance at hearing them for free."

OdESSA won the honour of opening Big Day Out in Auckland on the weekend through public demand and their recent album Oak Park Avenue has won rave reviews.

The final concert in the ASB Gardens Magic season will be Sunday night at 8pm in a sizzling hot finale with Candela – a 10-piece salsa band.

The Botanic Garden will be lively all day Sunday with popular children's event Teddy Bears' Picnic on in The Dell and Anderson Park from 12pm – 4.30pm.

The City Council is encouraging people to take the bus or the cable car as there will be very limited parking due to many people heading to both events.

The full Meridian Energy Summer City programme is available from Council service centres, libraries, supermarkets, cafes, or by calling 499 4444 or going to www.Wellington.govt.nz.
