New Zealand provides income support through Work and Income New Zealand (Work and Income) for those who have need and are eligible.
Generally support is available for permanent residents or citizens only. People who do not fit into either one of these categories cannot be assured of help. New Zealand has reciprocal social security agreements with other countries which offer income support for select groups while they are in New Zealand.
