The Wellington City Council can supply GIS (Geographic Information System) map data to the public. The data can be supplied in three different formats, vector data, raster data (aerial photography) or scale maps.
Vector data is supplied as:
- shapefiles
- personal geodatabase files
- CAD files
Raster data is supplied as:
- .tif files
- .JPEG files
- MrSID files
Maps are supplied as:
Smaller maps (A3 or A4) can be printed off at the Service Desk on Wakefield Street.

Charges
Cost is charged per tile:
- 1:500 tiles cover an area of 250m by 375m
- 1:2000 tiles cover an area of 1000m by 1500m
