A by-election is to be held on Saturday 21 November 2009 to fill the current vacancy on the Tawa Community Board.
The Board has eight members - six of whom are elected, and two Northern Ward Councillors appointed by the Wellington City Council.

All resident electors and non-resident ratepayer electors whose names are on the electoral roll in the Tawa Community Board area are eligible to vote in this by-election.
The election will be held using the Single Transferable Voting system.
Nominations for the position closed with the Electoral Officer at 12 noon on Friday 2 October 2009.
Eight candidates have put their names forward for election to the vacancy and a by-election will therefore be required.
