Mayor Prendergast: Please Talk about Human Rights in Tibet with Chinese Authorities while in Beijing |

Wellington is 'sister city' to Beijing. Wellington's Mayor will attend the Beijing Olympics in August 2008.
We respectfully ask her to raise human rights violations in Tibet and to strongly urge authorities in Beijing:
*To respect the human rights of Tibetans and to free those held for peacefully expressing their beliefs
*To allow UN monitors and journalists access to Tibet to ascertain the situation
*To negotiate with the Dalai Lama for a meaningful solution to the Tibetan issue
