Wellington City Council owns and runs seven pools throughout the city.
The five indoor pools are open every day except Christmas Day and unless maintenance is required.
The outdoor pools open when the weather gets warmer, generally from Labour Weekend through to Easter.

Monthly and yearly swim memberships are available and are a good option for those who swim at the Council's pool three or more times a week.

To keep swimmers safe, all our pools meet the national PoolSafe standard and we have qualified lifeguards on duty at all times.
For hygiene reasons, all toddlers must wear pants / swim suits that are tight fitting around their legs. Cloth or disposable nappies are not allowed. Little Swimmers swimming pants are available for purchase at the pools.
Children under 8 years old must be actively supervised by an adult (a person over 16 years old). All children under 5 years old have to be kept within arms reach of their adult supervisor.
Children are not allowed in the saunas or steam rooms.
