Kilbirnie Recreation Centre is a modern facility designed to cater for wheel-based activities for users of skateboards, bikes, scooters, and roller and inline skates.

It can be hired for sport and corporate events and is located at 101 Kilbirnie Crescent.

Facilities

  • 20m by 40m concrete rink - with sport court flooring, 1.5m barrier and safety netting.
  • Removable ramps and obstacles - these dominate the rink during public skating times.
  • Tinytown - a safe, fun, interactive play area with ride-on toys and high energy activities for preschoolers.

Enjoy the company of other parents with guided buggy walks around the Southern and Eastern suburbs.

No need to book, just turn up on the day.

Meet at 9.45am, walk from 10.00am - 11.00am.

Thursday 16 February - Kilbirnie to Lyall Bay
Starts at Kilbirnie Recreation Centre, heads to Lyall Bay then back again. A flat medium-paced walk with inviting sea views at Lyall Bay.

Thursday 15 March - Scorching Bay Historic Houses
Begins and ends on Karaka Bay Road. A casual, low-medium intensity walk that takes you along Scorching Bay with its charming historic houses.

Thursday 19 April - Worser Bay
Meet on grass area beside Worser Bay Lifesaving Club. A flat medium-paced walk that takes you along Worser Bay with wonderful sea views.

Thursday 17 May - Breaker Bay
Meet at Wahine Memorial Park car park on Breaker Bay Road. A flat medium-paced walk with stunning south coast sea views.
