This conference marked the 25th anniversary of the Sister Cities New Zealand organisation.
It also marked the 25th anniversary of the first Sister City relationship between New Zealand and China, as well as the 50th anniversary of the worldwide Sister City movement.

- the international Sister City community
- government agencies from New Zealand and Asia
- business organisations and advisors.
Themes
Through presentations, interactive workshops and social and networking opportunities the conference covered:
- the potential of international sister city relationships
- the benefits to the communities involved
- maximising financial return and ongoing investment from formal and informal networks
- ways to encourage business development and commercial opportunities while promoting cultural tolerance.
